Larry Alan Cope, age 81, passed away at home with his family around him on Friday, June 25th 2021, at Cape May, NJ. Born on October 25th, 1939, in Punxsutawney, PA., he was the oldest child to Russel and Eleanor Cope. He had three siblings, Natalie (Rocotti), Debbie (Weaver) and Steve. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol, his son Keith (Natalie Salomone), daughters Kimberly (Adrian Rojas), and Kelly Jo (John Moore IV). Larry had four grandchildren; Sarah (Lance), Jordan (Shaye), Laura, and Chase. Four great-grandchildren, Prestyn, Landynn, Kennedy, and Harper, as well as his siblings and many nieces and nephews.
Larry graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1960 and went directly into the Navy where he was a baker. After being discharged from the Navy he married Carol Kocher. In 1964 Larry worked at Piper Aircraft as a draftsman and then started J&L Construction with a friend from the local congregation. Later on, in New Jersey he worked for Trim Line Design. He then purchased and worked a Trim Line franchise with his son, Keith.
Larry was baptized in 1971, and work with the Jehovah Witnesses then became his most important calling. He was a full time minister (a regular pioneer) in the Loch Haven, PA, Congregation, then transferred in 1978 to the Millville Congregation. In 1989 he and Carol moved to Williamson, WV, where he pioneered for 28 years. During this time he was also in the landscaping Department for the Regional Building Committee. He moved back to New Jersey in 2015 to be closer to his children.
Larry is greatly missed by his family and friends.
